She was named the “Outstanding Blues/Pop/Rock Vocal Soloist” by Down Beat magazine's 2015 and 2016 College Student Music Awards and was a member of the 2015 International Championship of Collegiate a Cappella's Grand Champions, The SoCal VoCals.

Since 2015, Malia has performed as a vocal soloist on numerous occasions with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Columbus Symphony Orchestra and Colorado Music Festival Orchestra in Steven Hackman's symphonic mash-ups of Beethoven/Coldplay, Bartok/Bjork, Stravinsky's Firebird Remix-Response, Tchaikovsky/Drake and Mashupalooza.

As a member of the award-winning SoCal VoCals, Malia had the honor of performing at the White House for President Obama, the First Lady and their staff in December 2015. The dynamic a cappella group completed a two-week performance tour of Hong Kong in March 2016 kicked off with two sold-out performances at Queen Elizabeth Stadium. In May 2016, they performed a medley of Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil songs at the BMI Pop Awards as the songwriting team was honored with the BMI Icon Award.

At USC, Malia was a proud recipient of a number of scholarships including the Manilow Endowed Music Scholarship, Las Vegas Hospitality Association Scholarship, Scott Borchetta Popular Music Scholarship and the Thornton School Faculty Scholarship. She graduated from the Las Vegas Academy of Performing Arts in 2012 as a Theatre Major starring with rave reviews as Tracy in Hairspray and as Adelaide in Guys and Dolls. For over a decade, Malia has been singing for professional sporting and special events at venues including Angel Stadium, Dodger Stadium, Staples Center, StubHub Center, Honda Center and AT&T Park.

Her musical accomplishments are diverse with a long list of highlights including being selected to perform as a 'Star of Tomorrow' at the Apollo Theater in New York at the age of 13, given the honor of singing for President Barack Obama when she was 16 years old and performing in Barry Manilow’s show at Paris Las Vegas at 17.

"FUTURE SUPERSTAR? Henderson teen Malia Civetz, a 2012 Las Vegas Academy graduate, is well on her way to stardom. A sophomore at USC’s Thornton School of Music, Malia performed at the Dream Foundation Gala in Santa Barbara, Calif., honoring Barry Manilow with its Humanitarian Award. Malia joined Olivia Newton-John, Darren Criss, Richie Sambora, Jane Lynch and Nigel Lythgoe, among many others, in the Celebration of Dreams gala hosted by Priscilla Presley.

Malia almost had no time to wait for the standing ovation and thunderous applause at the end. She rushed down to Staples Center in L.A. to belt out the Canadian and U.S. national anthems when the L.A. Kings took on the Edmonton Oilers. We remember Malia here on the Strip when she appeared onstage for Barry’s closing weekend at the Paris, when he selected her winner of his worldwide talent contest.

She is no stranger to high-profile performances; she sang the national anthem for President Obama when she was only 16. Malia’s early recognition includes as a Star of Tomorrow at age 13 at Apollo Theater in New York.",
